Hi there! I’m Tori. I am registered social worker and psychotherapist. My passion is supporting the wellbeing of children, youth, and their families. I currently work as a school social worker at a local school board, where I bring expertise on how to support students’ mental health in the learning environment.

I have a special interest in supporting children and youth with ADHD to tap into their unique abilities, while finding practical tools to cope with the potential social, emotional and practical challenges. I care deeply about supporting children and youth who have experienced trauma and provide trauma-informed services as well as trauma therapy. I also have experience offering individual psychotherapy to youth and their caregivers in the areas of anxiety, depression and mood disorders, emotion regulation, learning challenges, self-esteem, bereavement and life changes, social and relationship difficulties, all while ensuring creativity, playfulness and humour remain at the heart of my practice.

My approach is eclectic and strengths-based, drawing from both practical experience and formal training in the areas of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), solution-focused brief therapy, as well as years of experience and knowledge related to attachment, trauma, self-compassion and mindfulness. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Carleton University and I am a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

My goal is to be an optimistic, collaborative and supportive member of my clients’ "village", by tapping into their inherent strengths, readily sharing relevant resources, staying connected with the services being offered in the wider community, advocating for them when facing systemic barriers, and walking alongside them as an ally and partner in their growth and healing

I offer virtual services weekdays in the evenings. Please reach out to me at tori.mindbloom@gmail.com to setup a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if working together might be a good fit for you.
